Vision For the Site
FASNY’s goal for the Site is to create a school that fulfills its needs, but is also consistent and complementary to the surrounding community. To that end FASNY has designed its facilities in a manner that is consistent with the White Plains Comprehensive Plan as well as the White Plains Zoning Code.
Our plan will:
RETROFIT the existing club buildings, and add several new buildings totaling no more than 125,000 square feet of additional foot print.
CLUSTER the buildings in one section of the Property, leaving most of the former golf course as OPEN SPACE.
LIMIT the height of the new buildings and feature attractive architectural design in harmony with the neighborhood.
RESTORE and PRESERVE the natural conditions of the site by consolidating the proposed site improvements for the development such that at least 90% of the property will remain pervious.
MAINTAIN 60 acres of publicly accessible OPEN SPACE for passive recreation.
ELIMINATE the massive use of water and hazardous pesticides and herbicides required to maintain a golf course operation.
UTILIZE green management measures to improve drainage and storm water quality.
